The standard kitchen size measures 22 by 30 inches (length by width). But a kitchen sink size generally depends on the interior width of the sinks cabinet. This on average measures 36 to 42 inches high, 24 inches deep and 25-1/4 to 26 inches wide. A 33 by 22 inch kitchen sink can comfortably fit in an average size cabinet.

You can generally put a 30 inch into a 30 cabinet. Top mount is fine just scoop the gables at the factory. An undermount 30 is generally 28 wide so it will also fit. This is why you purchase/order your appliances, sink and faucets before cabinets. Putting an actually measured 33 or 36 wide sink into a 30 cabinet is not a good idea.
